Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Connie Savor is a well-seasoned healthcare executive and infectious diseases specialist with over 20 years of experience in academic medicine, public health, infection prevention, and health system leadership. Dr. Savor joined Cepheid in 2025 as Chief Medical Officer.
Prior to that, she served as Chief Medical Officer at Denver Health, where she provided clinical oversight to a $1.3 billion integrated health system for a decade, overseeing 1700 medical staff and driving innovations in clinical workflows, service line expansion, and healthcare technology adoption.
As a Professor of Medicine in Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, she secured over $20 million in federal research funding and served as Principal Investigator on numerous projects involving rapid diagnostics, disaster response, and infection prevention, including clinical trials.
As a cofounder of Denver Health’s Offices of Education and Research, she helped shape state infection reporting policy and received several honors, including the Denver Health CEO Award and repeated “Top Doc” recognition.
Dr. Savor has a strong publication record and has delivered nearly 300 lectures around the globe by consulting to health departments on emerging infectious diseases and collaborating with regulatory bodies and key governmental stakeholders in a variety of capacities.
She is Board-certified in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, with a Master’s in Business Administration and combines operational expertise with a strong commitment to advancing solutions that improve clinical care and health outcomes.
On a personal note, Dr. Savor is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys biking, hiking, golfing, and downhill skiing. She has two grown daughters and cherishes the opportunity to travel and explore new places.
