Trichomoniasis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea are the three most prevalent, treatable STDs in the U.S. If left untreated, complications can include infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, pregnancy complications, and increased risk of HIV acquisition.
1CDC recommends:
1- Annual CT/NG screening of all sexually active women under 25
- Screening of other at-risk individuals including MSM*
- Testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, & trichomoniasis using NAATs^ (PCR)
- Timely testing to support prompt treatment decisions
