Analyte Specific Reagents*

The Cepheid Analyte Specific Reagent (ASR) program is comprised of a series of easy-to-use primer and probe sets in a convenient lyophilized bead format. Every ASR product is manufactured under cGMP for maximum product consistency and quality. Each ASR product is designed for rapid results on real-time PCR instruments like the Cepheid SmartCycler® System.

DNA Based

Bordetella pertussis

The B. pertussis ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect a 103 bp region of the IS481 gene. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

B. pertussis/parapertussis

The B. pertussis/B. parapertussis ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect a 103 bp region of the IS481 gene in B. pertussis and primers and an ALEXA 647 probe that is designed to detect a 101 bp region of the IS1001 gene in B. parapertussis. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM, ALEXA 647 and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

HSV Non-Typing

The HSV Non-Typing ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect a 92 bp region of the HSV Type 1 and Type 2 polymerase gene. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect a FAM reporter dye like the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

Staphylococcus aureus (SPA)

The Spa ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect a 98 bp region of the Staphylococcus protein A gene. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae

The Mycoplasma pneumoniae ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect the P1 adhesion gene. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

mecA

The mecA ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect a 146 bp region of the mecA gene. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System. Ordering Information.

HSV Typing

The HSV Typing ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe targeting the glycoprotein D gene of HSV Type 1 as well as primers and an Alexa 532-labeled probe designed to detect the glycoprotein G gene of HSV Type 2. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM, Texas Red, and Alexa reporter dyes like the Cepheid SmartCycler® System.

RNA Based

RSV

The RSV ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler System. Ordering Information.

Norovirus

The Norovirus ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect the GI region of Norovirus and an Alexa 532-labeled probe to detect the GII region of Norovirus. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM, Alexa 532 and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler® System.

The Flu A/B ASR contains primers and a FAM-labeled probe that is designed to detect Flu A and an Alexa 532-labeled probe to detect Flu B. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM, Alexa 532 and Texas Red reporter dyes such as the Cepheid SmartCycler®

The Enterovirus ASR contains primers, a FAM-labeled probe and an Alexa 532-labeled probe that are designed to detect a 115 bp region of the 5' UTR. This ASR requires an instrument that can detect FAM, Alexa 532 and Texas Red reporter dyes like the Cepheid SmartCycler® System.
